  • Cute luggage... does it exist?

Ahh summer... the days are long, the nights are short, and my suitcase is covered in duct tape. Although this bag has seen many things and many places, I decided that it is time to retire my wheel-less bag. Although I appreciate my guns after walking through the gigantic Frankfurt airport with my wheel-less friend, I think it's time to upgrade to a rolling suitcase. One problem with this upgrade though... I don't want to buy a standard black bag like everyone else traveling. For one, it's nearly impossible to find that black bag in the sea of everyone else's black bags on the conveyor, even if I wrap it with a bunch of ribbons or ties to distinguish it. Second, I have more personality than a normal black bag, so something with more personality would be great.

So lovelies, do you know of anywhere to get great bags in all shapes and sizes? Any cute carry on duffel bags or rolling suitcases? Or even matching luggage sets?

  • Learning Languages

Learning your first language is a breeze. You get it easy as a toddler- Mama, Dada, Juice, NO. Whatever your first words were, they were the only way to communicate with anyone else what you want or need.

I grew up in the United States. When I was in elementary school, English was the only language we spoke or were taught. Spanish had not stared being taught in schools yet, and our first option to learn another language was in seventh grade. As I entered high school, it was heavily influenced on us to take Spanish. It is now the final semester of my senior year of university, and after a very, very long story, it's time for me to learn German more deeply than "hallo" and "ich liebe dich".

There have to be girls here who started learning a language on their own. Because it is my final semester, taking classes at a university is not an option for me to learn German. It is extremely important to me, and I don't really want to shell out $700+ for Rosetta Stone without knowing that it works, especially being an extremely broke college student.

What are more economical options to start getting immersed and learning a language? I know that spending time in Germany would be the best option for me, however that's not a permanent option until at least January. What worked for you in the past or what advice do you have to offer?

  • Making a Long-Distance Relationship "Easier"

I am one of those people who have fallen unexpectedly into a long distance relationship. While I have heard it from everyone and understand there's the upside, the downside, the right side, and the left side to being in such a relationship, it doesn't make the long periods of time away from your partner any easier.
In order to combat that initial fear of "Can we do this?" those who have been in a long distance relationship, whether it worked out or not, what things and strategies did you do to make the separation easier?

What did you do individually for yourself, and what did you do for your partner to make the situation easier?
